If you’ve ever wished the magic of Christmas could last all year, there’s a place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where it absolutely does—The Inn at Christmas Place. From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in twinkling lights, festive decor, and the joyful sounds of holiday music. Whether you’re visiting in July or December, this charming, Bavarian-style inn brings the spirit of the season to life in the most delightful ways.
Checking In to a Christmas Wonderland

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, but the magic starts the moment you walk through the front doors. You’re greeted by a grand lobby decked in garlands, nutcrackers, and glowing Christmas trees. Each hallway has its own festive theme, and every corner is full of charming surprises. Throughout your stay, you’ll wear a wristband that gives you access to the courtyard, pool, Santa concerts, and the upper and lower lobbies. It’s a small touch that helps keep everything secure and organized while you enjoy all the magic the Inn has to offer.
We stayed in Room 518, a beautifully decorated suite that felt like our own private Christmas retreat—cozy, clean, and full of thoughtful touches like a crackling fireplace channel on the TV, a makeup mirror, hairdryer, and free Wi-Fi. Our bed was very comfortable, and the balcony offered a stunning view of the outdoor pool and lawn area. The landscaping is immaculate and picture-perfect at every turn.

Bring the Comfort Home: Sleep in Heavenly Peace Mattresses

During your stay at The Inn at Christmas Place, you’ll undoubtedly notice the exceptional comfort of their beds. We certainly did! For those who fall in love with the plush, restful sleep provided, there’s fantastic news: The Inn at Christmas Place offers their “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” mattresses for sale!
This isn’t just any brand; it’s their very own, custom-designed mattress that ensures guests experience unparalleled comfort. If you’ve been searching for a mattress that delivers on the promise of a truly heavenly night’s sleep, you can extend the magic of your Pigeon Forge vacation by taking home the same comfort you enjoyed at the inn. It’s a wonderful way to bring a piece of your Christmas wonderland experience back to your everyday life.
Evening Delights from Mrs. Claus
From 8:30 to 10:30 PM, make your way to the front desk for a special evening treat: cookies from Mrs. Claus! These aren’t just any cookies—they’re served with your choice of cider, lemonade, or a fresh cup of Cozy Christmas House Blend coffee, which quickly became a favorite of ours. This medium roast had just the right hint of spice, and with a touch of half and half, it was so good we had to go back for seconds. It’s the perfect cozy companion to wind down your evening.

Breakfast with Santa Cheer

Your stay at the Inn includes a breakfast buffet served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 AM, and we highly recommend arriving early—between 7:00 and 8:00—to avoid the crowds. The selection was plentiful, from savory hot items to made-to-order omelets. And yes, we were thrilled to find that delicious Cozy Christmas coffee again here! There is plenty of seating in a large dining room off of Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen as well as outdoor patio seating that was really nice!
Adding to the experience, Santa himself sits just outside Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen, and we had the chance to visit with him both before and after breakfast. There was plenty of time for a chat and a photo, making it extra special for the kids and magical for us all.

Santa Concerts and In-Room Cheer

On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, Santa hosts concerts in the lobby—an enchanting event filled with music, stories, and holiday cheer. Even if you’re staying on a non-concert night, you can catch a replay of his performances on a special in-room channel, so you never miss out on the festive fun.
Family Fun and the Inn at Christmas Place Sweetest Legacy
One of our favorite family activities was the scavenger hunt through the hotel. It’s a fun way to explore the Inn and admire its dazzling Christmas decorations. Every detail feels like a page out of a storybook, and the hunt gave our kids a sense of adventure while helping us slow down and take it all in.

And speaking of sweet traditions—don’t forget to enjoy one of the Inn’s famous Hershey Kisses. This isn’t just a cute amenity—it’s a heartfelt tradition that stems from the legacy of Hurshel Biggs, the founder of The Christmas Place along with his wife, Marian Biggs. Mr. Biggs treated his employees like family and always made a point to brighten someone’s day. He would carry Hershey Kisses in his pocket, and if he noticed someone needed a little pick-me-up, he would offer them a chocolate treat.
To honor Hurshel’s legacy, The Inn continues this tradition by passing along a sweet treat to each guest, sharing not only chocolate, but the love and kindness that inspired it.
The Pool Area: Winter Wonder Lagoon
While the indoor pool and hot tub—open 24 hours a day—offered a relaxing escape any time we needed it, the outdoor pool area truly felt like something out of a Christmas dream. We’ve stayed at many resorts, but we’ve never experienced a pool area quite like this one.
Set against a beautifully landscaped backdrop and wrapped in festive lighting and music, the outdoor space is a showstopper. Whether you’re splashing under twinkling lights or lounging to the soft sounds of holiday classics, everything is designed to keep the Christmas spirit alive—even in your swimsuit.

There’s a lazy river (Lazy Reindeer River) that winds peacefully through the area, a twisting slide (the Sleigh Ride Slide) that kept our kids endlessly entertained, and multiple tucked-away coves and nooks where you can sit back and soak it all in. The decorative touches—wreaths, garlands, themed signage, and lights—make it feel like Santa’s own resort.
One of our favorite spots was the hot tub tucked beneath a waterfall(Gumdrop Grotto), where warm water and gentle cascades offered the perfect blend of fun and relaxation. It was especially magical at night, when the lights shimmered across the water and the sounds of Christmas music echoed softly in the background.
And perhaps best of all, the outdoor pool area stays open until midnight, which is perfect for families like ours who spend the day at Dollywood or other nearby attractions. There’s nothing better than returning to the Inn late in the evening and still having time for a quiet float under the stars—or one more trip down the slide!

The Grounds: A picture perfect holiday escape

Beyond the festive interior, The Inn at Christmas Place extends its enchanting charm to its outdoor spaces. The moment you step outside, you’re greeted by beautifully landscaped grounds that are as meticulously cared for as the inside of the inn. Lush greenery, vibrant flowers (depending on the season), and charming walkways create a serene and picturesque environment.
During our stay, we loved taking strolls around the property, discovering new festive details at every turn. Even without the full array of Christmas lights (which are incredible at night!), the sheer beauty of the landscaping makes every view picture-perfect. From the manicured lawns to the thoughtfully placed seasonal accents, the grounds are designed to complement the inn’s unique theme, enhancing the overall magical atmosphere. It’s truly a testament to the effort put into making every aspect of your stay special, reinforcing why it’s considered one of the best Pigeon Forge resorts for a unique experience.
