Dollywood V.I.P. Parking: Is it worth the extra cost?
Dollywood Preferred Parking: Benefits and Details Explained
Preferred parking and VIP parking are one in the same. Depending on who you talk to, you may hear it called either one.
Preferred Parking (VIP): According to Dollywood, Preferred parking is $50.00; Gold Passholders receive a $5 discount. At the theme park, make the most of your family’s visit with no tram rides, a separate ticket window to purchase tickets and Season Passes, and an exclusive entrance.
VIP parking can be added on to your ticket purchase online ahead of your visit to save you some time when you enter the parking lot. If you are a Season Passholder and want to just purchase VIP Parking passes, you can do this at dollywood.com too! Print out a copy of your parking pass from your account online and just show the Dollywood host and they will let you head on into the parking lot. Make sure you follow the signs to VIP parking. If you follow the crowd, you will end up in general parking and have to turn around and no one wants to waste precious minutes when you are trying to “rope drop” Big Bear Mountain.

Dollywood VIP Entrance: Location and Access Guide
There is rarely much of a line at the VIP Parking entrance and you skip the regular entrance with the bottleneck of crowds and enter right to the path that takes you into Wildwood Grove! Why not get a jump on riding Dragonflier and Big Bear Mountain ahead of the crowds! We will caution you, though, that there is a steep slope down from this parking lot to the tapstiles, so keep that in mind when thinking about your travel party.
Dollywood Preferred Parking: Is the Cost Worth the Convenience?
We vacation to the Smokies with our extended family, making our group at least 10 people deep. VIP parking tends to be the option that we prefer as a family because we don’t have to separate and can walk right up to the turnstiles and enter the park without any hassle. The amount we spend for VIP parking is worth eliminating the hassle of the trams and being split up. It is very rare first thing in the morning to find a tram with 10 seats all together. If you choose standard parking, your options to enter the park are walking through the parking lots to the front entrance or riding a tram. If you plan to bring your own stroller to the parks, you won’t have to collapse it with Preferred parking (like you would to ride a tram) because you will be strolling right up to the entrance.
We love preferred parking. We use our Gold Pass to receive a discount and pay the extra to park close to the private entrance. When you take the time to plan and pay for a vacation, we think that paying for convenience can be worth it if it helps your vacation be more enjoyable. Less stress = more enjoyment in our book!
