What is Doggywood? Dollywood’s Pet Boarding Explained
Only service animals are allowed to be in Dollywood’s Theme park, so Dollywood created Doggywood to provide accommodations for dogs while their owners are enjoying the park. Doggywood is located close to the front gate, very close to guest services. If you know that your dog will need to stay at Doggywood while you are visiting it is very important that you make reservations ahead of time. Space is limited! Reservations can be made online prior to your arrival by following this link and clicking on the make reservation button (make sure if you are a Gold Season Passholder that you are signed into your Dollywood account to receive your discount)
Doggywood Operating Hours: Planning Your Dollywood Visit with Your Dog
Doggywood will be open on the same operating day schedule as Dollywood. They will be open 30 minutes prior to park opening for drop off and will expect you to have your dog picked up within 15 minutes of park closing. Doggywood does not board overnight.
Doggywood Kennels and Cottages: Accommodation Options and Requirements
Here is what the Dollywood site lists:
- 12 Kennel Runs ( 4′ x 6′ ) — $25 per day (tax not included).
- 4 Cottages (approximately 5′ x 5′ ) — $35 per day (tax not included). Total weight of dog(s) in a single cottage must be 19 pounds or less.
- Dogs may share a kennel or cottage if they live in the same house; a $5 fee will apply for each additional occupant.
- Adequate water supply — FREE!
Doggywood Requirements: Vaccinations, Food, and Owner Responsibilities
- Adequate food supply.
- All pets visiting Doggywood must be up-to-date on their Rabies and Bordetella vaccines. Written proof is required from a veterinarian. Please bring a copy with you to present at check-in, or you may ask your veterinarian’s office to email it to GSAdmissions@dollywood.com before you arrive. If your dog is ineligible or unable to receive their Rabies or Bordetella vaccine, they cannot be boarded at Doggywood. No exceptions.
- Clean up for your dog(s) at the enclosed walk area located at the rear of the kennel.
- Routinely walk your dog as needed. Doggywood Hosts are not permitted to walk your dog(s).
Doggywood Tips and Considerations: Making the Most of Dollywood’s Pet Care
We think this is an awesome service. You will have to allow time as you tour the park to visit Doggywood and walk your dog periodically. Remember that only guests over the age of 18 are allowed in the kennel area, so you won’t be able to send your teenager over to walk your dog. If you are a Gold Passholder you can receive a discount on the boarding fee. Your dog cannot weigh more than 19 pounds to stay in a cottage and if you are boarding more than 1 dog in a cottage, the combined weight can’t be more than 19 pounds. Just like the name implies, Doggywood will only accept dogs so don’t try to sneak any cats in! If your visit to Dollywood changes and you have to cancel, Doggywood is very accommodating and will refund you if that call is made to them prior to 5 pm the day before your visit.
